Winner for Cadlands
27/06/2008I was relatively happy with the runners this week. Most of them ran up to expectations, with LAAHIG showing a lot if grit and determination to get up on the line at Carlisle. BEAUCHAMP VICEROY was a bit disappointing, he possibly didn’t stay 10 furlongs round Great Leighs, with a track that hasn’t fully bedded down.
Attention now turns to Windsor Saturday afternoon, when MOUNT HADLEY makes his long awaited reappearance in the Midsummer Stakes a Listed race over a mile. It looks a tight contest, but I am pleased with the way he has been training, although he may need the run.
On Sunday we head back to Windsor and STORMBEAM runs in his first handicap over a mile. It’s a typical Windsor event – lots of runners, some exposed and some not exposed, but we hope for a good run.
We also travel to Salisbury Plains where AGENTE PARMIGIANO runs in quite a strong 2 year old conditions race, there is a valuable prize of £14,000 on offer. He was due to run in Italy two weeks ago, however I felt that he needed more time after his win at Yarmouth. He seems to be in good shape now and hopefully he will have a good run.
We have a few entries made for the rest of the week. A bit early to say who will go where. Hopefully I will get a chance to run FANTASY PRINCESS, who ran well for us last year.
