NAYYIR RETIRES

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I announce the retirement of Nayyir.

He has had a fantastic career with wins in the Lennox Stakes (Group 2) x 2, Challenge Stakes (Group 2), and the Diomed Stakes (Group 3) x 2. His last win was in the listed Churchill Stakes at Lingfield.

He was placed 2nd in 3 Group 1 races, and had 5 placings in Group 2 and Group 3 races. He amassed earnings of over £570,000 and he reached a BHB mark of 120.

Luckily for him and more so for myself, he was owned by one of the world’s most sporting owners Sheikh Abdulla Al Khalifa. I am sure both he and I will look back on Nayyir’s career with immense pride and satisfaction.

When I think back to how he pulled through being as close to deaths door as you could possibly be – he showed unbelievable strength and toughness to be able to come back and perform again at the highest level. We will all miss him a tremendous amount but we all wish him a happy and healthy retirement.
