Shamila
13/07/2006This week we have sent out a few runners and picked up several placings without a win which has been a little frustrating. Our 2 nice fillies Tafiya and Shamila both finished 2 nd this week, and Best Double was running on well to be 4 th yesterday at Lingfield. At Newmarket, Optimus ran another good race yesterday finishing strongly to be placed 4 th . He was stepping up in class after winning his last race.
We start this weekend off with 3 runners on Friday – all in different corners of the country.
We have a 2 year old colt by the American sire Gulch, named Stark Contrast making his debut at York in the first race, a 6 furlong maiden with Daryll Holland on and we are hoping for a pleasing performance from him. Then we have Bayeux running at Hamilton in the 8.20pm in the John Smith's Scottish Stewards Cup, he will be ridden by Nicky Mackay. He has come out of his race at Royal Ascot very well and we are looking for a good run from him. We finish off Friday with Cyclical who runs at Chepstow in the 8.40pm race over 6 furlongs and he will be ridden by Steve Drowne.
On Saturday we have Forgery in the John Smith's Cup at York. He too has come out of his race at Royal Ascot well, and he will be ridden by Daryll Holland who has previously been successful on him. We also have Nayyir running at Lingfield in the Group 3 Summer Mile. He has really come back to form and at the age of 8 is showing a lot of enthusiasm for his work at home and in his races. He will be ridden by Ryan Moore. We will also have the 2 year old fillies - Passing Hour at Nottingham depending on the ground, and World's Heroine at York but again her run will be dependant on the ground.
