Nad al Sheba
28/03/2008I have been very pleased with the way both Baharah and Dansant have settled into their temporary environment in Dubai. The weather has been exceptionally hot and we have been taking them out earlier than normal to avoid the desert heat.
They have both been doing exercise on the training track at the back of Nad al Sheba racetrack. They have been moving very sweetly at exercise and it is all systems go for tomorrow evening. We have been watching all the other participants for the World Cup event and one horse that has caught the eye is Finsceal Beo, and also the obvious one, Curlin – the American horse which is running in the World Cup.
We are all set for a very exciting evening and looking at the chances for Baharah, being drawn in stall 10, I think for her it will be a position that is more of a benefit than a hindrance. It just keeps her out of a lot of the intensive kick back during the race which is always run at a very very strong pace, so hopefully she will be able to stick with the strong early pace and then her stamina will play a part in the final quarter mile.
Dansant is drawn 14/16 and this slightly compromises his chances but as I always say, the draw is only relevant after the race and I am sure Jamie’s intentions are to have him settled in a good rhythm and play his cards quite late in the race.
So here’s hoping for the best for the weekend and I will be back on Sunday ready for the domestic actions next week.
