Hever Sprint
22/03/2007On Saturday we will have 2 runners at Lingfield. Beauchamp Viceroy is having his first run since winning at Wolverhampton on 29 December. He has been training very well and is forward in his coat. He runs in the Spring Cup over 7 furlongs, but his chances may be comprised by his draw of 13 from 14 runners. However we are hoping for a good run from him, and are very much looking forward to the coming season with him.
Bonus runs in the Hever Sprint later in the day over 5 furlongs, which is a drop back in trip with him and he has been drawn 2 of 10 runners. Bonus has settled back nicely into his familiar surroundings since travelling back from Dubai and hopefully can put his bad run in Dubai behind him and put up a good performance.
Both Beauchamp Viceroy and Bonus will be ridden by Nicky Mackay.
Also on Saturday Jack Sullivan will be shipped out to Dubai in preparation for the Godolphin Mile on Saturday 31 March. This will be the fourth year that Jack has travelled out to Dubai and his second crack at the Godolphin Mile having been 4th last year. He worked very well on Tuesday of this week and I could not be happier with him. He will arrive in Dubai on Sunday morning and will do some walk exercise on Sunday and Monday, followed by some trot work on Tuesday, then do some cantering on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday he will canter as normal but also visit the stalls, then on Saturday he will have a gentle exercise to keep him as fresh as he possibly can be ahead of Saturday night. Nicky Mackay will take the ride.
We have some good news regarding sponsorship – XL insurance will very shortly be our new yard sponsors, and as a leader in the world wide commercial property and casualty insurance market, we are very pleased to welcome them onboard.
