Super Frank
24/01/2006
We welcomed in the New Year with a nice winner in Super Frank. I was pleased to get another winner for his owner Alan Spence and I hope to do my bit in maintaining this run after a good year last year.
We are slowly and surely piecing together our Dubai team. This year our team will be Nayyir, Jack Sullivan and Diktatorial. They are all due to do their final piece of work towards the end of the month. Jack Sullivan is scheduled to leave on the 2nd February to run on the 9th February in the 2nd round of the Maktoum Challenge. There are a couple of races for Diktatorial in the Carnival and I have been very pleased with his progress since his arrival. The programme for Nayyir will possibly start with a Conditions race at Wolverhampton on 18th February. This could set him up for the Dubai Duty Free Trial on 2nd March but due to his history of poor travelling, we could send him out at that time to head straight to race on World Cup night.
The rest of our all weather team are coming on quite nicely. We have been rather selective in the horses which we have been running but we aim to have a busier week this week with Penang Cinta, Compton Drake and Bonus. Compton Bolter is taking his time to get back to form after his experience at Sandown. My idea would be to give him a couple more weeks of rest and then head to the Winter Derby on 18th March. The rest of the horses are coming along nicely for the coming turf season. We will probably start running half a dozen on the all weather towards the latter part of March.
