Stable stars to head for the sun
03/01/2009
Happy New Year to everyone who has supported us over the past year, 2009 is set to be an exciting year for us all here at Cadland and we are looking forward to building on the success of 2008.
DANSANT and BONUS have done us proud over the Christmas period, with DANSANT notching up another win, this time at Lingfield under Eddie Ahern. He showed an impressive turn of foot to break the course record over ten furlongs.
BONUS finished an unlucky second behind DUFF at Kempton over seven furlongs, but he looks to be back to his best. He is entered at Kempton on Wednesday 7th January in a seven furlong 0-100 handicap.
BERRY BABY has again proven her liking for Polytrack finishing second to MISSION CONTROL at Kempton in a race not run to suit. She too is holding her form over the winter and it shouldn't be long before she finds the winners enclosure again.
With the cold weather taking a grip, BAHARAH looks set to escape to warmer climes, with her proposed participation in the Group 3 Cape Verdi at Nad al Sheba on February 5th over 1,600m and the Group 3 Balanchine on February 20th over 1,777m, both of which are on the turf.
A final decision has yet to be made for DANSANT, but it is felt that he would be more suited to conditions in California with plans being made for the Santa Anita Handicap on March 7th. After his win at Lingfield Gerard reported that “It is far more likely that he'll go to California, rather than the Carnival, because he got jarred up on the turf when he went to Dubai last season."
We are very excited about the new two year olds and will update you shortly on their progress. We still have shares available for the new Partnership- ‘Distaff 2’. Further details regarding the two fillies involved can be found on the website or by contacting the office.
