ROYAL ASCOT PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY
29/05/2009
We had high hopes for our in form filly GOOD AGAIN at Haydock last Saturday in the Betfred Silver Bowl and we were not disappointed by her brave effort. We were very proud of her performance under Seb Sanders and her fourth place was admirable on what proved to be very testing ground. She is still on target for the Sandringham at Royal Ascot.
MONETARY FUND made the journey to Chepstow on Bank Holiday Monday, for a maiden over a mile. Although he was up with the leaders, he failed to make any headway two furlongs from home under Pat Cosgrave and finished unplaced.
On Wednesday MOUNT HADLEY ran in a one mile handicap at Lingfield on the all-weather for horses rated 0-80. William Buick took an early lead and took them along at a fair pace, but was headed two from home and didn’t show the same form as at Ascot last month on the turf.
This afternoon JUST LIKE SILK runs at Goodwood, we decided not to run him last week due to the heavy going at Haydock. Conditions should be to suit this afternoon, where he runs over one mile one furlong, in a 0-80 handicap under Eddie Ahern.
CONFIDE IN ME returns to the track this afternoon in one mile handicap at Yarmouth. He has been off the track since September of last year and will today be partnered by Andrea Atzeni who claims 5lbs.
Tomorrow evening AGENTE ROMANO runs at Newbury in a one mile five furlong, 0-75 handicap. Seb Sanders is in the saddle again and hopefully we will have better luck in running.
We take five horses to work at Newbury on Sunday morning, including DANSANT who is preparing for the Hardwicke at Royal Ascot. He returns to the turf after a successful spell on the all-weather over the winter. He is very well at the moment and we are very much looking forward to seeing his return next month. BEAUCHAMP XERXES will also be in action, he will be working in preparation for the King Edward also at Royal Ascot.
