Prince Alzains form takes a boosting

Despite our confidence, Full Bloom did not handle the surface at Southwell. She broke well as she always does but it became very apparent after just 100 yards that she was uncomfortable. Despite this, she tried her best under some gentle guidance from Steve Drown and finished in third place. Luckily, the race hasn’t taken anything out of her and she was as fresh as a daisy the next morning. Still, we will give her time to settle back down before bringing her back to the polytrack in the next few weeks.

Quiz Mistress left us all scratching our heads. She settled well under Amy Ryan who had her positioned in the box seat of the race. 3 furlongs from home she was still travelling much the best however when the time came for her to dig that bit deeper, not much happened. There is no real reason for this that springs to mind, she has always been a sound and forward going filly and it was unfortunate that she finished on a negative note. We are pleased that she won during her career and put in a number of solid efforts but it was just not her day on Wednesday.

Dubai Bounty is all set to run at Lingfield tomorrow. She has done a few nice, confidence boosting pieces of work lately and we are happy with her going into the race. She will be sporting the tongue tie again and has Seb Sanders on board.

It is declaration day tomorrow for Prince Alzain’s French race. There were 35 entries in the race which is a massive entry. We will know more about the race tomorrow afternoon once the declarations have been finalized. I think it is obvious that it will be very competitive and although we respect that fact we are not wary of it. The form of the race he won at Wolverhampton has been boosted nicely in the last week with the second placed horse going on to win his next start by over 3 lengths and the third placed horse winning next time out by 12 lengths.
He has filled out nicely since his win and is bursting with energy. The great thing about this horse is he loves his job. He has the perfect balance of being that little bit cheeky at home to a very professional racehorse on the gallop and racetrack. He keeps himself fit and happy a looks a picture. Seb Sanders has been confirmed as the jockey and as we have said before, it’s always a help when the jockey knows the horse there are riding.
