Maristar Gets USA Team Of To Flying Start
23/05/2011
Our American team got off to a great start over the weekend.
Burj Alzain ran a cracking race to finish second, only beaten a nose. After being held up at the rear of the field, he unfortunately was bumped to race 5 wide around the turn, which proved to be very frustrating when you only get beaten a nose! Still, we were delighted that he ran with such promise.
Akhmatova may have been swept of her feet a little bit by the fast American pace over 1 mile. Her fitness will have come on a lot for the run however and she has been very well since the race. She will go straight back into training in preparation for her next run.
Maristar was the star of the weekend however as she notched up her 4th career win. It was always the plan for her to return to her American roots and she seems to have taken to it like a duck to water. She had the dream run round under Junior Alvarado and went on to win comfortably.
We will lower our sights with Joe Le Taxi who did not run as expected. We will be keeping a close eye out for a suitable opportunity for him to run a better race.
Pachattack is ready to run on Saturday in the Matron Stakes. She has been training very well as always and is a filly of true star potential. We are very excited to see her back in action and will be hoping for a good run from her.
