KEMPTON SUCCESS FOR BEAUCHAMP VICEROY

30/10/2009

CONFIDE IN ME was given a pleasing ride by Hayley Turner to get his nose in front at Wolverhampton last Friday evening in a 0-55 handicap over a mile and one furlong. Some of his performances have been very frustrating as they do not reflect his true capabilities and he didn’t make life easy for himself on this occasion, but did enough to win and shall be continuing on the all-weather at Lingfield on Sunday.

SWISS CROSS made his nursery debut at Doncaster on Saturday over seven furlongs. He was again partnered by Kieren Fallon and looked to be in contention, but couldn’t pick up on the rain softened ground and finished sixth. He will be given a break over the winter and we are all firmly of the opinion that SWISS CROSS is a very capable horse.

We had three runners in action on Monday afternoon. TINAAR was making her first appearance at Lingfield in a one mile four furlong 0-85 handicap. Ryan Moore held her up in touch and looked to have her poised to take the race, but the eventual winner MISTER NEW YORK kicked for home first and stole a valuable advantage, despite TINAARS best efforts she was beaten a length into second place pulling away from the rest of the field.

Later on the same card PRINCESS PIVOTAL made her racecourse debut in a seven furlong maiden.  JONNY MUDBALL having his second outing made all and had the field strung out at the two furlong pole. However PRINCESS PIVOTAL having been settled on the rail by Greg Fairley, rallied in the straight and held her position, but the first three home had distanced themselves from the rest of the field and had the race wrapped up.

At Kempton BEAUCHAMP VICEROY brought Frederik Tylicki one step closer to claiming the apprentice jockeys title with a wire to wire victory in a one mile 0-80 handicap. Tylicki judged the ride perfectly and BEAUCHAMP VICEROY did enough to hold on by a head in this step up in class.

Following our recent success at the track, FANTASY PRINCESS made her debut at Southwell on Tuesday in a one mile, 0-85 fillies handicap. Hayley Turner had the filly in contention, but she was unable to challenge and despite staying on in the final stages of the race could not catch the leaders and finished fourth.

Our next runners will be at Lingfield on Sunday afternoon. It will be an early start due to the evenings drawing in, with CONFIDE IN ME declared in the first a one mile, 0-55 handicap with Hayley Turner hoping to follow up from last week’s victory. NEW INNOCENCE will be having his third run in a one mile median auction maiden on the same card, with Frederik Tylicki in the saddle. Our final runner will be JADALEE who has been in great form this autumn and will be back over his favoured trip over one mile five furlongs.

With only one week of the Flat Turf season remaining, our attention is drawn to our new yearlings, which are being started in preparation for their training next year. We will shortly be sending out details regarding a new partnership, which will have two fillies in training, by GREEN DESERT and GIANT’S CAUSEWAY. They have settled in very well and seem to be enjoying their new roles in life. They will be ready to ride by the middle of next week and we are planning to organise an open morning in the near future, so you will be able to watch them in action.
