JADALEE MAKES ALL AT NEWMARKET

23/07/2009

AGENTE ROMANO left the yard last week following his second at Leicester on Thursday in a one mile four furlong claiming race. He was claimed by Evan Williams so no doubt we will see him running over hurdles in the next few weeks.

On Friday we sent runners to Haydock, Newbury and Newmarket, however the heavy rain storms across the country did little to help our cause. MONETARY FUND was first up at Haydock in a one mile six furlong handicap for three year olds rated 0-85. However MONETARY FUND under Stephen Donohoe could never get on terms in the soft ground and was unplaced.

BEAUCHAMP WONDER had to battle in very soft ground for her third place at Newbury, in a one mile three furlong apprentice handicap for four year olds and upwards rated 0-75. Prominent throughout the race the shorter trip did not play to her strengths and she was unable to challenge the eventual winner SKY QUEST. BEAUCHAMP WONDER now heads to Glorious Goodwood for the Goodwood Stakes run over two mile five furlongs.

JUST LIKE SILK was our last runner of the day at Newmarket. Following torrential downpours throughout the afternoon the ground at Newmarket was very soft. Nicky Mackay replaced the delayed Hayley Turner in the saddle. Prominent throughout, JUST LIKE SILK didn’t seem to act on the going and despite his best efforts finished in fifth.

On Saturday we had two runners, the first was JADALEE returning to the turf at Newmarket over one mile seven furlongs, in a handicap for four year olds and upwards rated 0-85. Shane Kelly was in the saddle for the second time and gave JADALEE a great ride from the front, dominating throughout and winning comfortably by three lengths.

PLATOCHE returned to Lingfield for a one mile two furlong selling race. Under Eddie Ahern he chased the leaders and was unable to quicken two furlongs out, however he stayed on to snatch third place in the dying strides.

We have had a very quiet week with no runners, but MUFTARRES will make his track debut for us tomorrow night, following his purchase at the Horses in Training sale last year. He was formerly with Sir Michael Stoute and will run at Newmarket over six furlongs in a 0-90 handicap. Louis Philippe Beuzelin takes the ride.

On Saturday afternoon AGENTE PARMIGIANO will run at Ascot in a seven furlong handicap for horses rated 0-90, for lady amateur riders. We have booked Kelly Burke to ride and we expect to see AGENTE PARMIGIANO run well.

CONFIDE IN ME will run at Lingfield on Saturday afternoon in a 0-65 handicap over a mile two furlongs on the turf. It will be his first run at Lingfield and he will be partnered by Hayley Turner.

Looking ahead to next week, Glorious Goodwood begins on Tuesday and as always we expect to send a team down to Sussex. We will keep you updated with our entries and declarations throughout the week.
