JADALEE BATTLES FOR WELL DESERVED WIN
18/09/2009
Our good fortune continued last week with another winner, with JADALEE battling for a well deserved win at Wolverhampton under Kieren Fallon on Friday night. JADALEE led throughout this one mile five furlong contest, driven out for a one length win.
SWISS CROSS had his second career run at Sandown on Friday, in a five furlong, two year old maiden. Jim Crowley held him in touch, making headway one furlong out, however despite staying on to take third place he was unable to challenge the winner. It might be worth keeping an eye on this colt for future reference, due to the winner and second of this race both being highly thought of.
BEAUCHAMP VICEROY made his reappearance at Wolverhampton last Saturday night in a one mile and half a furlong, 0-85 handicap. Kieren Fallon was in the saddle and was prominent throughout, but couldn’t find enough to challenge the leaders and finished unplaced.
On Wednesday MOUNT HADLEY was top weight in a one mile two furlong, 0-90 handicap at Yarmouth. Neil Callan retained the ride following their success at Beverley. Making headway two furlongs from home, MOUNT HADLEY had every chance and was in second place only yards from the line but was overcome in the final furlong and despite his brave effort finished unplaced.
CONFIDE IN ME returned to the track after his short break, in a seven furlong, 0-60 handicap also at Yarmouth. Following his success earlier on the card Neil Callan held CONFIDE IN ME in touch, making headway three furlongs from home. However CONFIDE IN ME wasn’t able to sustain his effort and finished unplaced.
BEAUCHAMP VICEROY returned to Wolverhampton yesterday in a seven furlong claiming race. Dane O’Neill took the lead in this contest, but was headed two furlongs from home and weakened inside the final furlong and was beaten into fourth by AEROPLANE.
SERVETIUS made his debut later on the card in a six furlong median auction race. SERVETIUS was slowly away under Dane O’Neill and was held in the rear of the field, he stayed on to take fourth place and this was a good introduction for the colt.
Today MARISTAR makes her debut at Newbury in a seven furlong fillies conditions race. She will be partnered by Steve Drowne and we are looking forward to seeing this Giant’s Causeway filly in action.
We have three runners on Saturday, BEAUCHAMP XERXES returns to action at Newbury following his win at Windsor last month. William Buick will be in the saddle for this one mile one furlong conditions race.
We will be pleased to see PACHATTACK return to the track on Saturday. She has been declared at Newmarket in a 0-100 handicap over one mile two furlongs and Shane Kelly has been booked to ride.
We also expect to see ELLIPTICAL on the same card. He is declared in a one mile, 0-90 handicap. Stephen Donohoe returns to the saddle and all being well we expect him to run well, but the fast ground my pose the biggest problem.
