Impressive Prince Apollo
12/03/2011
Prince Apollo made his debut run for us a winning one when scoring by a head at Lingfield on Wednesday. He was dropped in by his jockey Neil Callan at the start and was a little keen courtesy of the slow pace. He then found himself in a pocket and was stuck with nowhere to go when the rest kicked for home. After a few failed attempts, he eventually got a run and stormed passed the field to get his head in front where it mattered. It was an impressive performance and we were delighted with him. He has come out of the race well and has had a well earned rest in the paddock for a day or 2!
Beauchamp Viceroy is our 2nd and only other runner this week and he will be heading off to Wolverhampton today to take part in the 7f listed “Lady Wulfruna” stakes. The conditions will suite him down to the ground and he has the benefit of having Neil Callan on board who rode him last time out.
We have 2 entries so far for next week. Sing Sweetly is waiting in the wings to make her debut for 2011. She has been going very nicely at home and is an exciting prospect for this season.
Sole Bonne Femme is the second entry and has been dropped down in grade this time to hopefully get his head in front. He came out of his last race extremely fresh and well so we think he could go close.
The 2 year olds have had a couple of trips to the grass canters this week. They have all been doing very well and are shaping up very nicely. The grass canters give them a bit more to do and is a different experience for them but they have all taken it in their stride and been very professional about the whole experience!
