High Hopes for the Maple Leaf
05/11/2010
A pretty quiet week here at Egerton House as the end of the season appears to of crept up on us rather quickly!
We were disappointed to say the least with how Dansant performed (or not as the case may be) at Kempton on Wednesday evening. Obviously our first blow was Richard Hughes not making it in time, through no fault of his own. This race was in no way a true reflection of Dansant, who has been a fantastic servant and stable favourite over the years and we think now that a change of scenery may be required and he will head off to Canada to run in the Valedictory Stakes on December 5th. He will then change hands and be left to finish his career for top Canadian trainer Roger Attfield.
Pachattack however is already flying the flag for us over in Canada this weekend as she lines up in the Maple Leaf stakes on Saturday. She is particularly well at the moment and we are very pleased with how she is in herself. She done some stalls work in the week which we were also very pleased with. Chantal Sutherland is back on board, so hopefully now she knows the filly, she will give her a more positive ride. We know Pachattack is a very classy filly and we think she more than deserves to be back in the winner’s circle after performing so consistently all year.
