GOOD AGAIN SHINES AT LINGFIELD
24/04/2009
Lingfield last Sunday was the setting for an impressive win by GOOD AGAIN in the fillies handicap.
GOOD AGAIN was well fancied in the race over a mile. She looked the pick of the paddock in what was a very competitive field. Under Eddie Ahern GOOD AGAIN showed an impressive turn off foot a furlong from home and went ¾ length clear of the second FANDITHA. Gerard plans to aim her for the Tote Silver Bowl at Haydock in May with a possible tilt at the Sandringham at Royal Ascot in June.
We had three runners at this meeting, a transferred fixture from Great Leighs. PLATOCHE was having his first run for the yard and competed in the first race of the day a handicap over one mile five furlongs. Although he made headway over two furlongs out, he failed to find enough in the closing stages of the race and finished in mid-division.
Our final runner of the day was JAGGER who was having his first run of the season. Running back over two miles, JAGGER could not find the pace to challenge on this occasion, but he has a long season ahead of him and he holds an entry for the Chester Cup next month.
We have no runners this weekend but the following horses have entries next week. AGENTE PARMIGIANO has been entered in the Listed Pavilion Stakes over six furlongs and MOUNT HADLEY is in a Class 4 handicap over one mile, both at Ascot. On Thursday JUST LIKE SILK has been entered in a handicap over one mile two furlongs at Redcar and AGENTE PARMIGIANO has his second entry of the week at Yarmouth over seven furlongs in a Conditions race.
It will be a hectic start to May with possible entries at Newmarket, Hamilton and Salisbury over the Guineas weekend. Entries will be made on Monday 27th April.
