GOOD AGAIN IMPRESSES ON RETURN
08/10/2009
We have had mixed fortunes over the past fortnight, with 3 winners and 6 placed runners. Our new partnership the Distaff2 had their first success with two year old debutante SING SWEETLY who was an impressive second in a maiden fillies race over seven furlongs at Kempton. She showed a real kick under Neil Callan and will be one to watch once stepped up in trip next year.
TINAAR featured on the same card at Kempton in a 0-95 handicap over one mile four furlongs. Under William Buick she was restrained at the rear of the field, she made strong headway, but unfortunately was unable to reach the leaders, staying on to finish third.
BEAUCHAMP XERXES had his first outing on the all weather at Kempton in a conditions race over one mile two furlongs. Eddie Ahern restrained XERXES at the rear of the field, making headway two furlongs from home, but did not have the pace to reach the winner finishing fourth. We were pleased with his performance and he makes his reappearance at Ascot on Saturday.
MUFTARRES was stepped up in trip for his run at Kempton in a seven furlong, 0-70 handicap. Neil Callan was in the saddle for the first time and held MUFTARRES in touch, running on strongly to challenge in the final furlong but could not reach the leaders and finished a very close third.
MONETARY FUND returned to Southwell for a one mile four furlong, for horses rated 0-85. He raced keenly tracking the leaders, running upsides the leaders, but could not find enough, finishing a gallant third.
SWISS CROSS was an impressive winner at Newmarket in a seven furlong two year old maiden under Kieren Fallon. He chased the leaders, ridden over one furlong, staying on under pressure and winning comfortably, he remains one to follow after this display.
BEAUCHAMP WIZARD finished second in the Newmarket Challenge Whip over one mile two furlongs, he raced keenly but did not have the speed to catch the winner.
BEAUCHAMP VICEROY also finished second in a seven furlong claimer at Wolverhampton, he led throughout under Frederik Tylicki, but was headed towards the finish, beaten ¾ of a length by CAPUCCI who broke the course record.
GOOD AGAIN made a valiant return to the track after a three month break, with an impressive win at Pontefract over a mile for three year olds rated 0-95. Tom Eaves held her up in the rear, making headway three furlongs from home. She ran on strongly to win by a comfortable margin and looks to be better than ever.
MUFTARRES returned to action at Warwick over a mile and hit the mark with a narrow win over the favourite SHAM SHEER under Tom Queally, he seemed suited to the step up in trip and should progress further.
Tomorrow MARISTAR runs in a maiden fillies race over one mile at Lingfield. She was impressive on her debut and will be partnered by Neil Callan tomorrow. On the same card FANTASY PRINCESS runs in a one mile four furlong handicap for horses rated 0-80, she has Tom Queally in the saddle.
JADALEE returns to Wolverhampton for a one mile five furlong handicap for horses rated 0-80 tomorrow evening.
On Saturday we have one runner, BEAUCHAMP XERXES at Ascot in a one mile four furlong, heritage handicap for horses rated 0-105, Jimmy Fortune will be in the saddle.
