Girls Go North

23/06/2010

This week see’s the re-appearances of Sing Sweetly and Pachattack. Two fillies who have been knocking on the door of late and both have cracking chances this week. Both fillies are more than deserving of a win as their latest efforts have been very satisfactory.
Sing Sweetly will be making the journey up to Chester on Thursday, to race on Friday in the 1m2f fillies handicap. On Friday morning she will have a gentle canter around the track in order for her to get a feel for the course. Then she will be taking on 5 other fillies to lose her maiden tag. Since her last run at Musselburgh, she has done nothing but improve. She is training brilliantly and we are more than happy with how she is at the moment.
Pachattack will also be heading north but landing at Newcastle to take her place in the line up of 8 fillies in the 1m2f listed event. We were over the moon to see her running on the finish 3rd beaten 2 lengths behind Antara in the Princess Elizabeth at Epsom on Derby day. Since then she has been moving better than ever at home and we can’t help but feel this race will suit her down to the ground. We know ourselves she is a very talented filly, so we head to Newcastle very hopefully of a good run.
This morning we took a few horses to do a piece of work around the all weather track at Lingfield. William Buick and Eddie Ahern came in to carry out the task and both jockeys were thrilled with the horses. Lahaleeb and Good Again were the first pair on the track and both went very well. Having won the E.P Taylor on Lahaleeb last year, William was very complimentary of the filly and was delighted to feel her in such great shape. She will now head for the Falmouth stakes at Newmarket on the 7th July whilst Good Again will wait a few extra days till the 9th July for the Bunbury Mile, also at Newmarket.
Next on the track were Dansant and Distinctive Image. Eddie teamed up with Dansant, a partnership which has worked well in the past. It was good to see him back on the race course; it was the first time since August after a few health issues. Eddie was pleased with the way he moved, he got a little bit tired towards the end, which was to be expected but it is great to have him back on the team. He will be heading for Turkey later in the year for a very valuable all weather race.
Tinaar also had a spin around the track, as was her usual, professional, impressive self. She is still on target for the Lancashire Oaks, and is exactly where we want her at the moment.
