Exciting Prospect Akhmatova

Akhmatova put a smile on all our faces Saturday by winning impressively by 2 lengths at a generous 11-1 under Dane O’Neil. Being her 2nd win from only 3 starts, we are obviously very excited about her prospects. She is shaping up to be a classy filly and she could possibly be heading for York on Saturday for a step up in class. Watch this space. 

We hope the ball will keep rolling as we have a fair few entries this week, 1 or 2 with obvious chances.

Sing Sweetly will be at Kempton tomorrow evening having her 2nd shot over 1m4f, a distance we are confident she has the stamina for. Hayley Turner will be back on board, and hopefully the filly will settle a bit better this time and have a bit more energy left to finish her race.

Baibars will also be at Kempton having his first attempt over 2 miles. The blinkers will be re-applied after we switched them for cheek pieces last time out. It will be his first time this year on this surface so we hope that between that, and the step up in distance he might finish a bit closer.  

Good Again has 2 entries this week, both with equal possibilities. After her bad luck in running last time out, we have been looking forward to her having her next run and hopefully the gaps will open up for her this time. She certainly seemed to be back to her best at Pontefract last time out, so whether she ends up at Ascot or Newmarket this week, we are more than hopeful of a good run.

Quarante Deux will also be looking to rectify his last unlucky run this week. He has been declared for Leicester on Wednesday and will be having his first run on the grass. This is not something that concerns us if his home work is anything to go by, though we have to keep a close eye on the weather as we would not want to see him on anything too fast.
