ELLIPTICAL SHINES ON A WET SALISBURY

We began last Saturday with high expectations for AGENTE PARMIGIANO in the Totescoop6 Heritage Handicap over seven furlongs at Ascot. Under Richard Hughes PARMIGIANO broke well and was then held up towards the rear. Unfortunately he had no luck in running and despite being switched for a run in the final furlong he could not catch the eventual winner SECRET SOCIETY.
However our fortunes change on Saturday evening where ELLIPTICAL made an appearance at Salisbury over a mile in a 0-85 handicap on soft ground. Jim Crowley held a prominent position throughout the race, before committing a furlong from home. ELLIPTICAL battled on to hold off the challenge from RAFIQA and won comfortably under a good ride by Crowley to win by half a length.
On Wednesday evening we had two runners at Kempton. JADALEE ran in a one mile three furlong apprentice race, under Simon Pearce. JADALEE took a keen hold and was held up at the rear of the field, he made his challenge three furlongs out but was no danger to the winner. This trip was a probably a little on the short side for him and he returns to action at Newmarket on Saturday.
CONFIDE IN ME returned to the track following his run at Ayr two weeks ago in a 0-70 handicap over a mile. Under Hayley Turner he was held up at the rear of the field, he made progress a furlong out, but despite his best efforts could not catch the winner ASSAIL. He was staying on well, but it was felt that the Kempton track was too tight for him.
This afternoon AGENTE ROMANO runs at Leicester in a claiming race over one mile three furlongs. He has been installed as the 4-1 second favourite and has Alan Munro in the saddle today.
Tomorrow we have a busy day, with runners across the country, beginning with MONETARY FUND at Haydock in the 4.40 a one mile six furlong handicap for horses rated 0-85. Stephen Donohoe has the ride and has been drawn in stall four of six declared runners.
BEAUCHAMP WONDER is back in action at Newbury at 5.30 a one mile three furlong apprentice handicap. Charles Eddery takes the ride and it is hoped WONDER goes one better than her second position at Carlisle two weeks ago.
Finally on Friday evening JUST LIKE SILK has been declared to run in a 0-95 handicap over one mile two furlongs. Hayley Turner takes the ride in this competitive handicap and will only run if they get the proposed rain at Newmarket.
We have three runners declared to run on Saturday, the first of which is JADALEE at Newmarket in the 4.45, a 0-85 handicap over one mile six furlongs. Shane Kelly has been booked to ride and he has been drawn in stall 3 of 7 runners.
We take two runners to Lingfield, AGENTE PARMIGIANO is back in action in a claiming race over one mile, under Eddie Ahern and PLATOCHE is in a selling race over one mile two furlongs, also partnered by Eddie Ahern.
