ELLIPTICAL HITS THE BIG STAGE

We were just out of luck last Friday with a second at Goodwood and Yarmouth. JUST LIKE SILK returned to the turf at Goodwood in a one mile two furlong handicap for three year olds rated 0-80. Under Eddie Ahern JUST LIKE SILK made good progress throughout the race, hitting the lead a furlong from home, unfortunately he was headed 100 yards from the post by ITLAAQ and finished an encouraging second. Hopefully he can continue to improve his form on the turf over the summer.
CONFIDE IN ME made his return to the track at Yarmouth last Friday in a one mile handicap for four year olds and upwards rated 0-60. Under apprentice Andrea Atzeni CONFIDE IN ME was prominent throughout the race and looked to have every chance inside the final furlong, but the winner HIGH FIVE SOCIETY had the better of him on the line. It was a great performance from CONFIDE IN ME having been off the track since September of last year and he is set to run again at Folkestone on Monday.
AGENTE PARMIGIANO runs at Epsom today in the last race on the card, over seven furlongs, for three year olds only, rated 0-100. Unfortunately he has been drawn in stall 12 of the 15 runners, which may be a disadvantage. AGENTE PARMIGIANO has been in good form and hopefully Jamie Spencer can get the better of the draw today.
Tomorrow afternoon ELLIPTICAL runs at Epsom in the first race. We were very pleased with his win at Goodwood and he runs again over one mile two furlongs, in a race for three year olds rated 0-105. We have employed the services of Pat Smullen on this occasion and have been drawn in stall five of fifteen runners. This will be quite a test for ELLIPTICAL but we should know a lot more about him after tomorrows run and we are all very excited that he is taking his chance at Epsom tomorrow.
As previously mentioned CONFIDE IN ME has been entered to run at Folkestone on Monday with Andrea Atzeni in the saddle again. On Wednesday we have made the following entries. At Kempton STEF AND STELIO, BEAUCHAMP VICEORY, CONFIDE IN ME and PLATOCHE have been entered. At Hamilton we have entered JAGGER and STORMBEAM.
We have Ascot firmly in our sights now. We plan to work our Ascot horses next Tuesday, this will be the last work prior to Ascot. We are very much looking forward to GOOD AGAIN running in the Sandringham on Wednesday 17th June and DANSANT in the Hardwicke on Saturday 20th June. We also have an early closing entry for BEAUCHAMP XERXES in the King Edward VII on Friday. The remaining entries for Royal Ascot will be made over the following week.
