EASTER BONANZA
09/04/2009
We have a busy Easter weekend ahead of us in preparation for the Craven meeting here at Newmarket next week. The Breeze Up Sales and the Craven Meeting will guarantee that Newmarket will be buzzing over the next week, with visitors from all over the world here to participate in the sales and enjoy the real start of the turf flat season on the Rowley Mile.
We have no runners over the weekend but have made an entry on Easter Monday for MOUNT HADLEY at Yarmouth, but we are considering other opportunities for him over the next seven days and he will be entered for Wolverhampton on Thursday evening too.
On Tuesday morning the Breeze Up Sale starts, the first lot will breeze at 9am, before the sale begins after racing on Wednesday.
On Wednesday morning we have the first of our two open mornings and welcome all owners to Cadland Stables for a 10am start. If you have not already notified us of your attendance on either days (or both!) please contact the office by phone or email. We would love to welcome you to Cadland Stables and give you the opportunity to watch the horses working on the gallops and have a wonder around this historic yard.
We have made three entries for Newmarket on Wednesday, MONETARY FUND has been entered in the first face of the day, a maiden over one mile two furlongs. This will be his seasonal debut, following a promising run at Newmarket last October over a mile. We hope PACHATTACK will return to action in the Fielden Stakes a Listed race over one mile one furlong. An impressive winner at Goodwood last July, she put a disappointing run behind her to finish fourth at Newmarket in October in the Group 3 Oh So Sharp Stakes over seven furlongs, the step up in trip should suit. JUST MUSTARD has been entered in the Alex Scott Maiden Stakes over seven furlongs, we hope he will prefer the surface at Newmarket, having not taken to Lingfields’ Polytrack last time out. We will have more news on our runners on Tuesday.
We expect to enter BEAUCHAMP XERXES tomorrow for the Wood Ditton at Newmarket on Thursday, which is over a mile.
