DANSANT BACK IN LISTED ACTION
27/03/2009
We had a busy afternoon at Lingfield last Saturday with three runners.
BEAUCHAMP VICEROY returned to the track after a six month break to run over one mile four furlongs for the first time. The race was ran at a steady pace and VICEROY was held towards the rear of the field, as the race opened up in the final furlong he looked to have every chance but lost the race in the final strides finishing fifth in a blanket finish.
We had two runners in the final race of the day over one mile. JUST MUSTARD had shown a lot of promise on his debut at Newmarket last October, but held in mid division he found himself outpaced and finished in sixth place. JUST LIKE SILK travelled well throughout the race and was held in the rear before challenging wide off the bend, finishing in fifth position. He will certainly be suited by a step up in trip and has been entered to run at Dundalk on April 3rd in a one mile two furlong handicap for €23,000.00.
Tomorrow DANSANT returns to Listed action at Kempton in the Magnolia Stakes over one mile two furlongs. It is his first run since his return from California earlier in the month. DANSANT will be reunited with Eddie Ahern who has recently returned from his winter Bahrain. They take on seven runners from stall seven in this competitive race, the real danger comes from BRONZE CANNON third in last Saturdays Winter Derby at Lingfield and AJHAR who has very good form on the turf, but this will be his first start in 126 days.
Our work schedule is stepping up and we are sending horses to the racecourse side for the first time this year. We are building a team to aim towards the Craven Meeting in April, but their final destination has yet to be decided.
