Bayeux

16/05/2006

I have decided to go pretty easy with a lot of our horses over the next week or 2. We had quite a few horses disappoint us last week for no particular reason and I just feel that they are not performing as well as they should be. They are working fine and seem quite healthy but unfortunately their performance on the racecourse is not reflecting this so I decided just to go easy and see how they are in a week to 10 days time before we start running horses again. Possibly by May 27 th things will be better as we are  due to run Tarfah and Bayeux and they will be a good test to see how healthy the string are.

Regarding Bonus' performance on Saturday, I felt maybe the 7 furlongs was stretching his stamina  a little bit and Kieran was quite adamant that the fast ground did not help him whatsoever. He is a very big, strong horse and probably was feeling the ground. He ran ok but I feel myself that he could have run a lot better if we were in a bit better form. We'll see how he is over the next week or so before making any more plans. As I said we will be quiet for this week and possibly most of next week until we figure out where we are with a lot of these horses.
