We have entered DANSANT today for the rescheduled Great Leighs fixture, with the race now to be run at Wolverhampton on Thursday 5th February. This Listed race over 1m1 ¼ furlongs is part of his preparation for the Santa Anita Handicap on March 7th. Dane O’Neill has been booked to ride.
BONUS is on course for the Ladybird Stakes at Kempton on Sunday 8th February and we will notify you of his entry next week.
It brings me great sadness to announce the retirement of BAHARAH, she suffered a career ending injury following an accident at Nad al Sheba on Monday morning. She was one of the best fillies Mr Penser owned, he himself bought her at the July Horses in Training Sales in 2007, he chose her for a number of reasons; she is a fabulously bred filly and had the looks to go with it.
Some of her performances last year were top class with her win at Ascot in May, where she gave 23lb to the second and showed an impressive turn of foot to win this prestigious race. On the 25th July she showed herself to be a filly of the highest calibre with another devastating turn of foot to win going away from a very nice bunch of fillies. Her penultimate start at Lingfield was the Listed Fleur de Lys where she came from quite an awkward position to pick up very nicely and win by a short head.
I’m sure I speak for all the team at Cadland Stables when I say we will miss her greatly and I am sure she will prove to be a very valuable asset to Mr Pensers brood mare band. I look forward to seeing her offspring in due course.
