a new season

We are all very excited here at Egerton House Stables as the end of this week sees the long awaited start of the Flat season.It has seemed a very long and cold winter, but it is easily forgotten with Lincoln and Spring Mile fast approaching which will hopefully see our first runners of the season take their chances.
Mount Hadley is as fresh as a daisy and has been in super form. His coat looks fantastic and he is very pleased with himself at exercise, especially when he goes over to the Choke Jade grass. Nicky Mackay will be getting the leg up and he is drawn 5 from 22. We are hoping that the ground does not soften too much for him.
Elliptical on the other hand, would not mind the softer ground as we know he goes on it after his success on that ground last year. He has been very spritely and despite being slightly behind schedule, has made up for lost time as well as we could hope for.
The other candidate for the weekend is Trojan Reef who will run under Choc Thornton in the mile and a half bumper at Newbury. We have all been very much looking forward to seeing him take his chance on the turf and are excited to see him run.
This year, we are running a 5 to follow competition. £10 a line, and you can have as many or as little lines as you wish.
